Plastering with cm 1:5 mix( one cement and five sand )
to 12 mm thick. How much Bag of Cement (50 Kg) and Sand (Cum)

Answer Posted / p. jairaj

Plastering in cm 1:5
1 part - cement
5 part - sand
total - 1+5 = 6 part.
Thickness of plastering - 12mm
Volume of mortar required for 1sqm
vol of mortar = 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.012 = 0.012cum.
volume of dry mortar of 1cum of wet mortar = 1.57cum
vol of dry mortar = 1.57x0.012cum = 0.01884cum.
vol of cement = 0.01884 ( 1/6) = 0.00314cum
Qty of cement in kg = 0.00314cum x 1440kg/cum = 4.5216kg
qty of cement in bags = 4.5215/50 = 0.0904 bags

qty of sand = 0.01884cum ( 5/6)= 0.0157cum.
