Can motor act as generator (OR) vice versa? explain how
does it do please post the answer technically
Answer Posted / mudasir nazir magray
Moter is a device/machine which converts electrical energy into mechnical energy and the generator do the reverse of moter. synchronous motor is ac moter having rotor speed less than synchronous speed (Ns=120f/p). If the speed of the rotor exceeds the synchronous speed or the speed of the rotating emf of stator(Ns=120f/p) then the moter will act as a generator because in this condition the torque acts in opposite direction of rotation (as in generator).
