what is the difference between drift current and diffusion
current.
Answer Posted / zahid mumtaz
Drift current is due to the applied potential difference
across the semiconductor, by appling this electric field is
establish and free electrons move in specific direction
that current is called drift current and the velocity gain
by free electron is drift velocity.
Diffusion Current is due to the diffusion of charge
carriers (i-e electrons, holes, ions)it is indedendent of
applied electric field, charge carriers flow from high
concentration to low concentration,it`s direction is either
same to drift current or opposite to drift current.
