How to calculate the no of bags required for 12mm thick 1:6
plastering?
Answer Posted / krishna prasad
as per CPWD Norms, cement required is 7.20 bags for 12 mm,
with 1:6 cement mortar plaster. Actual calculation gives
7.00 bags, in our calculation we have to assume 20% cement
for filling voids in the sand and 20% cement for uneven
surface of the brick/block work.
for 100 sqm, CM required willbe 100 x 0.012 = 1.20 cum
cement required will be 1.20 cum x 1/7 = 0.1714 cum
add 20% for filling voids ins and - 1.20 x 0.1714 = 0.206
cum
add 20% for unevenness in the block work/brickwork=0.206 x
1.2 = 0.2472 cum
each bag of cement weighs 0.0345 cum,
Hence, cement required for 100 sqm of plasstering will be =
0.2472/0.345 = 7.16 bags. That's it.
