Is this a revenue meter from the utility company or a power
quality meter? In the case of a power quality meter, there
should be something letting you know if your PF is in a lead
or lagging. I have an Amprobe DMII Pro and it showes an i
after the PF to indicate lagging, .98i, and a c to indicate
leading, .98c. I have also seen meters with lagging PF -0.98
and leading +0.98. Another simple thing you can do is look
at your VAR, if it is in the negative, your in a lead.
As far as a revenue meter from the utility company is
concerned, call the utility company and ask them.
