in artificial respiration, why 5%carbon dioxide
uses with 95%oxygen?

Answer Posted / abhi

Our tissues always contain CO2 in dissolved form as
bicarbonates (HCO3-). These are carried through RBC to lungs.

However, the cell works all the time & there is always
release of CO2 which is converted to bicarbonates & which is
also continuously transported to lungs.

So, if you consider at any time point, our body will have
that 5% CO2(bicarbonate form) inside as it is continuously
released. The rest (95%) is oxygen. Hence, in artificial
respiration 5% CO2 is also used such that it equals our body
conditions.
