How to calculate the cement, sand quantity for plastering?
(10'x10')10mm thick ratio 1:5. wht"s the formula?
Answer Posted / manoj kumar moharana
cement mortar ratio is (1:5)
assume the area that we are going to calculate the plaster qty is,
L = 3.048 m
B = 3.048 m
given H = 10 mm = 0.01 m
hence the qty is = 3.048 x 3.048 x 0.01 = 0.093 cum
add 30% of the above qty for joints = 0.093 x 0.3 = 0.028
total qty = 0.093+0.028
=0.121 cum
add more 25% for dry volume = 0.121 x 0.25 = 0.03
total qty =0.121+0.03= 0.151 cum
no. of cement bags = 0.151/(1+5) =0.025 cum / 0.0347= 0.720 bags
= 1 apprx.( where as 0.0347 is the volume of 1 bag cement)
qty of sand = 0.025 cum x 5 = 0.125 cum
therefore mortar reqd. for 1:5 cement plaster is
cement = 0.025 cum = 0.720 bag
& sand= 0.125 cum
