working principle of induction motor is similar to
transformer. but what makes it to rotate? then why the
transformer doesnt?

the displacement angle between the coils (windings) are
different both in tranfmr and motor to produce required
torque the displacement angle should be 360/n n>no of phases
betwn the windgns
