why transformer rating in KVA ?
Answer Posted / sunil kumar pandey
Because transformer rating depend on load (resist.,
inductive , capacitive) if transformer feed to resistive
load at unit PF. Then there rating is VX I X1=?
If feed to inductive load for e.g. PF .85 Then there
rating is VX I X.85., that’s why its rated at KVA, where k
is constant i.e. 1000.
