how to calculate the kw, Amps consumed by a capacitor,
give me the formula for KVAr into capacitance,KVAr into KW
& KVA, Amps
Answer Posted / michael
Amp consume by the capacitor simply Q = VIrf
where rf = sin theta, since it is
capacitor so theta = 90 deg
sin 90 = 1
so simple I = Q/V
Q = reactive power
V = voltage
I = current
(KVA)^2 = KW^2 + KVAR^2
since purely capacitiy KW = 0
therefore KVA = KVAR..
NOTE : in a purely capacitive or inductive
real power always Zero
