Ans-If we apply dc supply across the transformer primary side,there will be no pulsating or alternating flux in the transformer core.Hence there will be no mutual as well as self induced emf as the flux is not a time varying one.As there is no self induced emf in transformer primary,there will be no back emf and as transformer primary resistance is low,there will be a high current in the primary side.Hence high copper loss and it will damage the winding insulation.
