what will happen if petrol is fed to diesel engine and disel
is fed to petrol engine?in any case engine will run or not?
Answer Posted / logachandran.v
Yes.., both the engines will not work..
Diesel: It is high viscus and low volatility fuel..So the
self ignition temperature of diesel is higher than the petrol.
In diesel engine: Compression ratio is higher than the SI
Engine.., It is enough to initiate diesel without spark plug.
Petrol: It is low viscus and high volatility fuel..So the
self ignition temperature of petrol is lower than the diesel.
thats why we are using spark plug to ignite the petrol.
If we use petrol in CI Engine.., Highly compressed petrol
will blast.
If we use diesel in SI Engine..,Producing accurate air fuel
ratio is not possible although it may work.
