In the operation of an AC motor, the frequency of the applied power determines the motor’s speed and the voltage determines the motor’s torque capability. The torque capability is actually defined by a curve showing torque capibility vs. operating speed.The induction motor runs at a slip depending upon the load. The slip is rarely more than 10%. In any case from the formula N =120F/P where N is the synchronous RPM, F the frequency, & P the number of poles , it can be seen that voltage has no role in the speed control. There is some other reason
