Answer-:
process of ARP and RARP
ok let Suppose that there is switch and two pc are
Connected let say pc1 have the ip 1.1.1.2/24 with mac A and
pc2 have ip 1.1.1.3/24 with mac B
now pc1 want to communicate hence what will be the process
Pc1 will send the data with
1) source ip address
2) source mac address
2) destination ip address
4) destination mac address ==unknown hence it will be
replaced by Mac ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff( this Amc is Know as
Broadcast mac)
now Switch receive that data and he make the arp entry for
source and for destination
But here the arp entry for the source will be correct but
arp entry of the destination will be destination ip address
and mac address ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff.
Now Switch broadcast this data and it will ask Hey are you
have ip address 1.1.1.3 Pc2 reply yes yes i have
once he reply he will Replace the MAc wff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
with his own mac
Now Swicth know that ip address 1.1.1.3 have mac B and he
will correct the ARP table inside it
That is the ARP process
