What is the function of "Speed Governor" in steam turbine?
How it works?
Answer Posted / k.sankar
Governor has two valves one is TTV-Trip and Throttle
valve, second one is governor control valve.
Speed governors may used to control the speed of the steam
turbine. It's such a way set to operate with in minimum and
maximum speeds.
After opening the throttle valve the turbine develops speed.
After a certain speed attains the governor takes the control
and opens the governor valve to increase speed.
