Can I put my meter across an RTD to check it safely witout
tripping the equipment when it is connected to an
monitoring device eg.RTD module or IQ 1000

Yes you can do it.
1. force the analog input with such a value so that it is
beyond the tripping value.
2. Then open the leads and check the resistance of the rtd
in order to check wheather the rtd is faulty or not.
