A diesel engine,if i use there petrol fuel,What is problem

The compression ratio of the diesel cycle is much higher than that of petrol engine. Petrol is volitile at room temperature. If the petrol is used in diesel engine, before completion of the compression stroke, petrol will ignite and knocking will be observed.
