i have a bar of 36 dia in column, what is the lap length?
Answer Posted / irwin
Since the 36 mm dia bar is subject to compression, hence the the formula for the required lap is L=37(d)
where;
d=36
L=37(36)
L=1,332 (minimumn required lap for compression)
