why transformer rating in always in KVA ?
Answer Posted / apramey
rating is done on the basis of losses of any device
there are two losses in transformer-
1-copper loss ,depends upon current
2-iron loss, depends upon flux and flux depends upon voltage
hence losses depends upon voltage (v) and current (A) so rating of transformer is indicated as KVA
