in power station power measuring unit is KW but in
transformer is KVA why?

p.f=kw/kva .... T/f rating is in kva bcoz ,
1- Power factor of the load is not known.....
2- T/F losses depends upon cu- losses(due to current) and
core losses(due to voltage).
due to these resons t/f ratings are in kva.
while for motors and other machines the rating will be in kw
becoz their p.f is known(ranging from .2 to .8 during light
load and peak load period)...
