Why CT's shall not be kept open?

Answer Posted / abdul moin

when a CT in connected to the transformer is for the
current reading to know the amps folowing through the
conductor. we keep the terminal close because of the
secondary side voltage will be rise. thats why when we
remove the meter for the maintenance purpose we provided a
short link for close the terminals inorder to avoid high
voltage at secondary.
