What is a liquid resistance starter?where it is used??
Answer Posted / jamir ansari
lrs is used in applications where high starting torque is
required with minimal current. in slip ring motors liquid
resistence is inserted with the rotor circuit so as to
increase the slip thereby increasing the torque and reducing
the current. resistence is cut in steps and is short
circuited when motor reaches its normal speed.
