Construction joint is the joint provided without
interlocking two different designed structures having
different properties in terms of cc, rcc, pre-cast, various
grades, design etc. Different ratio of expansion &
contraction between two different structures has to be
neutralized to avoid any damage in structure.
Expansion Joint is especially provided to maintain the
changes in the dimension of the concrete mass due to the
effect of temperature on construction material like steel,
cement, aggregates and any material or object is in
conjuction with.Also entire part is not affected by any
settlement of base or related strucures.
