How to zero trim the level transmitter by using foundation fieldbus communicator.

Answer Posted / larry gremillion

To set the zero trim for K-TEK (a member of the ABB group) Foundation Fieldbus level devices:

1. In the Transducer Block enter the following – exactly as typed – into the CONFIG_ACCESS field:
KTEKFACTORY
Write the change to the device. This will change the GENERAL_STATUS field to ‘Access Factory’ before changes can be made and saved.

2. Move the float on the probe to the lowest position. This point is TRIM_POINT_LO.

3. Set the CONFIG_VALUE to the level value (in inches) of the lowest float position (typically 0”). In the CONFIG_METHOD field of the transducer block select TRIM_POINT_LO from the pull-down menu. Write the changes to the device. When the value in the TRIM_COUNT_LO field changes to match the value in the SENSOR_RAW_LEVEL_1 field the change has been saved.

4. Exit ‘Factory Access’ mode by typing a minus sign into the CONFIG_ACCESS field and write to the device, or by cycling power to the device. This completes the sensor trim procedure for K-TEK Foundation Fieldbus level transmitters.

7. Manually copy all settings and values from SENSOR_RANGE in the Transducer Block to the XD_SCALE in the AI Block (CH 1). When these data are written to the device they will automatically be copied into the relevant parameters in the Transducer Block.

I hope this helps!
