How to detect a newly added device if you are not able to detect the device using devfsadm?

devfsadm -c disk
devfsadm -i add the particular driver
Check whether the devfsadm daemon is running.
You can try reconfigure boot if its a test host.
create file called " /reconfigure
touch /reconfigure
Reboot -r
Or if you are in OBP prompt you can do boot -r
