what is the design voltage for 6.6KV 2000 KVAR HT capacitor?
Answer Posted / altaf
It is 7.2kV. This is arrived by taking into account 10%
increase in supply voltage & rounded off. However this is
for installation where series reactors are not used. In
case a reactor is used (6% for HT) then the design voltage
is 6.6x1.1/(1-6/100) = 7.72kV. The design kVAr also needs
to be increased accordingly otherwise the output is reduced
and detuning percentage changes & detuning frequency
deviates.
