WHAT IS THE THUMB RULE FOR DECIDING THE CURRENT RATING OF
COPPER WIRES SAY 2.5/4/6/10 MM SQUARE SIZES??
Answer Posted / arun kr. singh
The Thumb rule is:
Size of cable x 4 = Current rating of cable.
e.g rating of 2.5mmsq cable is: 2.5x4=10A
for 4mmsq cable is: 4x4=16A
6mmsq cable is: 6x4=24A
10mmsq cable is:10x4=40A
