if dc excitation is used to produce manetic flux in rotating
machines then ehy it is not used in transformers.

actually emf s are two types 1).statically induced emf 2).dynamically induced emf .we r giving dc suply while we are genarating dynamically induced emf's because emf is induced in the conductors wen there is some relative motion between conductor & field .if we r giving ac supply to rotating machines relative motion is zero that s why we r giving dc supply to rotating ma chines & this emf is due to self inductance .. but in case of transformers emf is due to mutual inductance

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
