describe the procedure for java stack upgradation.

Answer Posted / purushotham

If you want to apply java stack from SP06 to SP09 we fallow
this procedure

There is a new feature in nw04s for applying java patches.

It is JSPM (java support package manager).

Via that you can upload support package stack in a single
run.

Also no need to apply patch 7 and patch 8 for applying
patch 9.

You can directly apply patch 9 .

1) download the sp9 stack from service market place and
uncar the files using sapcar.exe and put the files in the
directory usr\sap\trans\EPS\in

A complete Support Package Stack must contain a mandatory
Support Package Stack definition XML-file which can be
downloaded in the Step 3 of the Support Package Stack
Download with the button 'Save As File' when adding the
selected Support Packages to the download basket. Fore more
information, refer to the SAP Note 884537.

put this xml file in the usr\sap\trans\EPS\in

2) Start the JSPM by executing the go.bat file from
directory \usr\sap\<SID>\JC<Instance No.>\j2ee\JSPM

3) Enter the SDM password in the screen window and click
logon.

4) Select a package type to be applied and the NWDI role if
any. Click Next.

5) Choose the Support Package which you want to apply from
the Queue ,the screen also displays the
current SP level and the target SP level. Click Next.

6) Click Next after verifying the SP you have chosen to
apply.

7) Check the status of the SP,if it shows Deployed it means
the SP has been successfully applied.
Click New Deployment for applying another SP else Click
Exit to Finish.
