Why combustion chamber is used in gas power plant cycle?
What will happen if compressor output is directly provided
to gas turbine?
Answer Posted / karthick
In combustion chamber only, hot expanding gases can be
produced. In compressor only the pressure of the air is
increased but the temperature of the air is not increased
sufficiently.but in order to produce power high heat energy
gas should expand inside the turbine so that only heat
energy can be converted into mechanical energy. So it is
necessary to use combustion chamber.
