T/f must not be connected to dc. bcoz if the PW of a t/fis
connected to dc supply mains, the flux produced will not
vary but remain constant & therefore no emf will be induced
in the SW except at the moment of switching on. thus the
t/f can not be used for raising or lowering the dc voltage
$ also no back induced emf in PW and therfore a heavy
current will be drawn from the supply mains whcih may
result in the burning out of the PW
