If I have a motor of 1 MW with 6.6 kV, running at 35% load,
how can I save energy without reducing the load?
Answer Posted / k.prakashchandra
You can not lower the load ,capacity, and voltage. To save
energy ,you are left with only reduction of line current to
lessen the I^2R losses. The pf of motor is highest at
full ,or nearly full load.At 35% load ,the pf is less and
hence, the line current is more than required to take the
load (HP)
