what is let through energy of mccb

Answer Posted / matt

Let through energy is the amount of energy that will be let though in a short circuit condition. The let through energy (I^2t) is calculated from the fault clearing time and the trip multiplier, which is obtained from the MCCB manufacturer. Let through energy is useful in sizing downstream cables.
