kongrates 2 all.. hu said dc series motor.

since the starting torque is very high, obviously this motor
is widely used for traction purposes..

the ratings of komn dc series mtr used for traction is,,

750v dc
650A
the gear ratio is 63:17
each locomotive (train engine)consists 6 such motors.
