Generally we hv a rule that phase is directly prop. to
operating voltage(efficiency).And we also need low voltage
operation as possible for safety purpose.so for ssi(small
scale industry,house hold)440v/230v is requierd,which can be
implimented using single n multiple phases.but single phase
is efficient(conductor size,no pf conductor)etc.
