in rectifier circuit,we are using the capacitor as a filter
to remove the ac signal.but capacitor blocks dc & allows
only ac. explain about it?

capacitor acts as a short circuit to the ac , so we shorts
the ac components more notably ripples to the ground and
what we have left is the pure dc signal at output.
