A tank can be filled by pipe A in 30 minutes and by pipe B
in 24 minutes. Outlet pipe C can empty the full tank in one
hour and twenty minutes.
If the tank is empty initially and if all the three pipes A,
B and C are opened simultaneously, in how much time will the
tank be full?

obviasly 16 minutes.............b'cas
in 1 minute a can fill the tank=1/30
in 1 minute b can fill the tank=1/24
then both fill the tank in 1 minute=1/30+1/24
=54/30*24
=3/40
c can empty the tank in 1 minute=1/80
then pipe will fill in=3/40-1/80
=1/16
hence
for fill the full tank it takes 16 minutes....
