We can select the cable size in sqmm for certain load by
this process
Cross sectional area of conductor in sqmm
In single phase=a=2x4.59PL
Where a=crosssectional area of conductor
P=Load in KW
L=Distance of load point
In three phase=a=4.55xPL/3
