At which time Synchronous generator act as a Synchronous
Condenser?
Answer Posted / praadeep_dd@yahoo.com
At peak load time Synchronous Gen. act as Synchronous
condenser. At peak load time the p.f. is very poor resulting
in low vtg at receiving end. Hence to feed reactive power to
inductive load the Synchronous Gen. is over excited. This
improves p.f. improving vts profile at R.E.

Please note, I'm not asking about the well bias in standby mode, but about the "antileakedge" measures during normal operation.
