a router is a intellegent device.
a router routes between different sub-nets.
each port of a router belongs to different sub-net.
each port of a router is a member of seperate collusion or
broadcast domain.
a router uses routing table to take fordwarding decision
routing table is a layer 3 table and hence router is a layer
3 device.
routes in routing table can be entered statically or
dynamically.
