Why is a condensor used in a rankine cycle?
Answer Posted / satyadar
condenser in a power plant is a heat exchanger for
transforming the vapor form(steam) in to liquid form
(water). this is because if we directly send the steam
without changing its phase the pump work required for
pumping the steam is more because steam occupies more
volume, where as if we convert in to water it can be easily
pumped with less pump work.this is because specific volume
of steam is more compared to water.
