what is the load amp for 1 HP 3 phase Motor ?

Answer Posted / karan

the thumb rule is,I= H.P*1.5
but current depend on Power factor,
Example power factor is 0.85
1 H.p=750kw=Root3*V*I*cosQ=1.73*415*I*0.85
so I=750/1.73*415*0.85=1.23 Amp

when pf is 0.80 then I=1.30

when pf is 0.95 then I=1.09
