If DC supply is given to a transformer it may
a) Work
b)Not Work
c)Give lower voltage than the rated voltage on secondary
side.
d)burn the winding
Answer Posted / baljinder singh
First of all ,when we give the dc supply to
transformer, flux set up around the winding or in core ,but
this flux is statoinary and not link with winding so there
is not produce the back emf .The resistence of primary is a
few ohm(1-5).According to ohm law I=V/R .
When voltage applied across ,the back emf is not
produce ,resistence is very low ,so heavy current flowing
throw it .The winding will burn.

i have a 4 Mva transformer 34.5 kv / 480-277 v and i used 2 parallel 3200 amp bus duct for the secondary feeder using 3 ply of bus bar ( 3/8" x 5" ) as a common where the flexible link terminated and 6300 amps breaker for the main, the lower bus duct reaches 70 degrees and the upper bus duct reaches 55 degrees when i used thermal scanner. why the temperature is not balance when the load reaches 3600 amps.

y we use neutral, all r told its used to for closed path..k its a just used to closed path,in a transmission line y we put same conductor used n both phase and neutral..if we use less than phase conductor in neutral mean we ll reduce cost its right r wrong..if we use mean any problem occur in transmission line..
