in our sub station why we step down firstly 33kv\11kv then
11kv to 430v. can we direct step down 33v to 430.v.

Yes we can step-down the voltage directly from 33kV to 430V
but it is not feasible since transformers turns will
increase which will ultimatly increases the cost and
secondly laod centres are far more distance than the S/S
which will increase the LT line and eventually the losses
are more in LT line than the HT line.Therefore from S/S to
the load centres, HT lines are running and near the load
centre distribution transformer is installed.By this way we
can reduce the LT line and ultimatly the losses
