what is the role of energy meter in distribution system ????
technical and non technical losses in distribution system????

Answer Posted / guru

Role of energy meters at Distirbution transformer is to
calculate the total output power and check with the sum of
the energy readings recorded at indvidual energy meters of
that particular distribution transformer.

This is used for calculating both technical losses and non
technical losses and technical losses from Distribution
transformer ~ consumer should not exceed 4 - 5 % of the
total output power of the Distribution transformer. For
calculating Technical losses line length , type of
conductor, no. of joints etc. in the line are taken into
account
