The efficiency can be found by finding the losses. because,
efficiency= output/input = output/(output+losses)
Now there are mainly two types of losses in a transformer.
1) Iron losses which can be found by the "No load" test.
2) Copper losses which can be found by the "Full load"
or "Short Circuit" test.
by knowing the losses, and the output rating of the
transformer, we can find efficiency.

Dear sir, my knowledge about cable size determination is limited. Though I read examples I could not calculate the Cable size required for electric driven pump 40 KW, 380 Volt, 50 HZ, 50 meter from transformer and it is three phase star delta starting. Please help as there is no one in my surroundings to help.
WHY IL=IPH IN STAR AND WHY IPH=IL/1.732 IN DELTA? WHAT IS REASON BEHIND IT?

I have an existing old MCCB. ABB Model SACE, the rating are: Ue = 660 volts, Iu =1250 Amps, 3 poles, Ith (max) =800 amps at 45 deg C. I need a circuit breaker for my 3 phase motors, 380 volts 60 hz. the supplier required the minimum ampacity of the breaker to be 911 amps. can i use this breaker with rating of Iu =1250 amps but Ith = 800amps maximum?
