actually when we provide the ac supply to the primary
winding then aflux gets induced in the core,this flux
complets the path through the core because ac current is
varying type so the flux induced will also be of varying
type ,so this induced flux causes a current induced in the
secondary winding.and this case is not with dc current.So
only ac current is used in the transformer.
