There are 4 types of LSMWs
1. Batch input
2. Batch recordiing
3. BAPI method
4. IDOC method.
Based on requirement we use different methods.

How many types of views are there ?
There is a situation where there is a field "MATERIAL DESCRIPTION" in say 20 display only transaction.
