is there or does RCCB work for single phase connection?
Answer Posted / samir
RCCB is nothing but only a current transformer which
detects the difference of incoming and outgoing
current, while in phase wire draws 1 amp and 1 amp returns
in neutral the net current of of CT secondary will nil,but
when Phase wire draws 1 amp and neutral will return 900 ma
(in case of leackage due to bad insulation of equipment) so
net difference of 100ma will be detected by the CT and its
secondary connected with coil and plunger, plunger will
actuate and it will trip RCCB mechanically.
