Where the excitation is given either stator or rotor in
actually in power plants?
Answer Posted / ramji
Excitation is given to rotor(Rotating field) in power
plants.Because
1. Collection of generated voltage is easy.i.e no need of
brushes and slip rings. So, lesser voltage drop and maint.
2. Also for higher voltages it is advisable to take output
from stationarty part.
